Job Overview
The National Institute of Plantation Management (NIPM), operating under the Ministry of Plantation and Community Infrastructure, is inviting applications from suitably qualified Sri Lankan citizens for the position of Administrative Officer (JM 1.1 – Grade II) on a permanent basis.

The National Institute of Plantation Management is a government institution dedicated to developing human resources and management expertise for Sri Lanka’s plantation sector and related industries.
Qualifications & Experience
External Applicants
Applicants should possess a degree recognized by the UGC in one of the following fields:
- Human Resources Management
- Business Administration
- Public Administration
- Public Management
- Commerce
- Any other relevant degree related to the subject area
Internal Applicants
Must satisfy one of the following:
- Possess the qualifications required for external candidates, or
- Have completed a minimum of five (05) years of satisfactory service in the post of Management Assistant (Non-Technological Category MA 1.1) Grade II in the subject-relevant area.
Age Requirement
- Minimum Age: 22 years
- Maximum Age: 45 years
The upper age limit does not apply to internal candidates.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Assistant Director (Administration).
- Assist in Human Resource Management functions.
- Handle procurement-related activities.
- Coordinate transport administration.
- Support maintenance and legal affairs of the institute.
- Contribute to the effective management of general administrative functions.
Required Skills
- Strong administrative and organizational abilities.
- Knowledge of human resource management practices.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to coordinate multiple administrative functions.
- Competency in handling institutional operations and documentation.
Salary & Benefits
Salary Scale
JM 1.1 Salary Scale:
Rs. 72,650 – 10×1,360 – 18×2,040 – 122,970
Starting Salary
Rs. 65,633 per month

Selection Method
Candidates will be selected through:
- Written Competitive Examination and/or
- Structured Interview conducted by a professional interview panel
