Job Overview
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals for the position of Umpire Coach. The selected candidate will be responsible for the education, development, assessment, mentoring, and performance enhancement of cricket umpires while supporting the growth of officiating standards across domestic and national cricket in Sri Lanka. Qualifications & Experience
- ICC Umpire Educator Certification, ICC Umpire Coach Certification, or an equivalent recognized qualification will be considered an advantage
- Significant experience as a cricket umpire at First-Class, List A, International, or equivalent level
- Proven experience in umpire coaching, mentoring, assessment, or officiating development programs
- Experience conducting training programmes, workshops, seminars, and performance evaluations
- Experience working within a cricket governing body, sports organization, or high-performance sporting environment will be an added advantage
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Thorough knowledge of the Laws of Cricket and current playing conditions
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and deliver umpire education and development programmes
- Mentor, coach, and assess cricket umpires to improve technical knowledge and decision-making abilities
- Conduct workshops, training sessions, seminars, and refresher courses for umpires
- Monitor and evaluate umpire performances through observations, reports, and performance reviews
- Identify and develop emerging umpiring talent pathways
- Assist with the implementation of umpire accreditation and development frameworks
- Maintain accurate records related to umpire development, assessments, and training activities
- Liaise with match officials, tournament organizers, coaches, and relevant stakeholders on umpiring matters
- Keep abreast of updates to the Laws of Cricket, playing conditions, and international best practices
- Contribute to the overall improvement of officiating standards within Sri Lanka Cricket
