Job Overview

Smallholder Agribusiness Partnerships Programme is inviting applications for the position of MIS (ICT) Officer for its Programme Management Unit (PMU).

The programme operates under the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Lands and Irrigation and is jointly funded by the Government of Sri Lanka and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).

Key Responsibilities

• Managing MIS systems and ICT-related operations
• Analyzing field data and generating reports
• Supporting network systems and infrastructure
• Handling data security and information dissemination
• Coordinating with management and stakeholders
• Supporting project monitoring and reporting activities

Qualifications & Experience

Applicants should possess:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in:
  • ICT
  • Mathematics
  • Statistics
  • or another relevant field recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC)

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in managing MIS systems
• Experience in:
  • Field data analysis
  • Report generation
  • Data handling and management

Additional Preferred Experience

Preference will be given to candidates with:

• Experience in agriculture partnership projects
• Experience in foreign-funded projects
• Data management and reporting experience
• Knowledge of network systems and infrastructure support

Required Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Supervisory and coordination skills
• Communication skills with stakeholders and management
• Knowledge of:
  • Data handling
  • Data security
  • MIS systems
  • MS Office packages

Language Requirements

• Proficiency in Sinhala and English (written and spoken) is mandatory
• Tamil language proficiency will be an added advantage

(Extensive travelling to project locations is involved.)

Age Limit

• Below 64 years by the closing date of applications

Appointment Type

• Contract basis appointment
• Extension possible up to 31/12/2026 based on performance

Salary & Benefits

• Salary based on Management Services Circular No. 02/2026 of the Treasury
• EPF and ETF contributions applicable
