Selected applicants may be assigned to any VTA work station islandwide based on service requirements.

Salary Scale

As per Public Administration Circular No. 01/2025:

• Salary Scale: Rs. 43,312.00 and government approved allowances
• Government approved allowances applicable

Job Responsibilities

• Handle office administration and clerical duties.
• Maintain files, records, reports, and institutional documentation.
• Assist in data entry, correspondence handling, and office coordination.
• Support administrative and operational activities of the authority.
• Coordinate with departments, staff members, and external stakeholders.
• Maintain confidential records and ensure proper document management.
• Support smooth day-to-day office operations and public service activities.

Required Qualifications

External Applicants

Applicants should possess:

• Passed G.C.E. Ordinary Level (O/L) in one sitting with six (06) subjects including:
  • Sinhala or Tamil
  • Mathematics

with credit passes in four (04) subjects.

AND

• Passed at least three (03) subjects in G.C.E. Advanced Level (A/L) excluding the Common General Test.

Internal Applicants

Employees in the Primary Level – Unskilled, Semi-Skilled, and Skilled grades may apply if they possess:

• G.C.E. O/L qualifications mentioned above
• Certificate-level computer knowledge qualification
• Permanent appointment status
• Minimum 05 years of continuous satisfactory service in permanent appointment before the closing date of applications.

Age Limit

• Minimum Age: 18 Years
• Maximum Age: 45 Years

The age limit does not apply to officers already employed in government or statutory institutions.

Recruitment Procedure

Recruitment will be conducted through:

• Written competitive examination and/or
• Structured interview conducted by an approved board

The final recruitment decision will be made by the Chairman and Board of Directors of the Vocational Training Authority of Sri Lanka.
