Job Summary

The Shipping Executive will oversee transportation and fleet operations, supervise container yard activities, coordinate drivers and dispatch schedules, monitor fleet performance, and ensure efficient shipment movement while maintaining compliance with company safety and operational procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Transport Operations

• Oversee and manage weighbridge operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Handle end-to-end transport operations, including scheduling, routing, and dispatching.
• Coordinate fleet and driver operations to ensure timely deliveries.
• Monitor truck and fleet performance, fuel usage, and maintenance records.

Container & Yard Operations

• Supervise de-mounting and container storage operations within the yard.
• Maintain accurate documentation related to transport and container handling.
• Ensure safe handling and efficient movement of containers.

Coordination & Reporting

• Communicate effectively with drivers, internal departments, and external partners.
• Track shipment movements and proactively resolve operational delays.
• Ensure compliance with company safety, operational, and transport procedures.
• Maintain accurate operational reports and documentation.

Mandatory Requirements

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

• Age below 45 years.
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in logistics, transport, or fleet operations.
• Good knowledge of de-mounting, container storage, and transport operations.
• Fluency in Sinhala (mandatory).
• Strong coordination, communication, and reporting skills.
• Computer literacy, especially Microsoft Office (Excel).
• Valid motorbike driving licence (mandatory).
• Ability to work under pressure in a shift-based environment.
