Job Summary
The Design Engineer will be responsible for designing injection molds, stamping tools, and fixtures while preparing technical documentation, conducting feasibility studies, optimizing production tools, and supporting engineering development projects. The role requires strong technical knowledge of CAD systems, mold design, tooling processes, and engineering documentation.
Key Responsibilities
Tool & Mold Design
- Design injection molds, stamping tools, and production fixtures.
- Develop tool modifications and continuous improvements.
- Prepare innovative tooling solutions for manufacturing.
- Support product and process development.
Engineering Documentation
- Prepare technical drawings and engineering documentation.
- Develop Bills of Materials (BOM).
- Create technical specifications and work instructions.
- Maintain engineering documents and records.
Tool Optimization
- Optimize existing production tools.
- Work closely with specialist departments on tool improvements.
- Improve tooling efficiency and manufacturing performance.
- Maintain tool data sheets and technical databases.
Engineering Analysis
- Participate in Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA).
- Conduct design feasibility studies.
- Support process feasibility evaluations.
- Assist in engineering risk analysis and design validation.
Customer Support
- Prepare layouts and design drafts for customer quotations.
- Support engineering proposals and technical offers.
- Collaborate with internal teams to meet customer requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
Applicants should possess:
- Strong knowledge of injection mold design and progressive die functionality.
- Experience in injection molding and progressive die manufacturing processes.
- Hands-on experience with 3D CAD software, preferably Siemens NX.
- Experience working with engineering database systems, preferably Siemens Teamcenter.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
