Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will assist in implementing and monitoring Protection Unit activities including:

• Return and reintegration programmes
• Resettlement and peacebuilding initiatives
• Community stabilization activities
• Counter-trafficking projects
• Safe migration and humanitarian assistance programmes

Additional responsibilities include:

• Monitoring project activities and budgets
• Preparing reports, correspondence, presentations, and documentation
• Coordinating with government authorities, UN agencies, NGOs, and stakeholders
• Organizing workshops, meetings, and training sessions
• Supporting implementing partners and reporting compliance issues
• Providing guidance to junior staff members

Educational Qualifications

Applicants should possess either:

• Bachelor’s Degree in:
  • Political Science
  • Social Sciences
  • International Relations
  • Development Studies
  • Migration Studies
  • Human Rights
  • Law
  • Or a related field

with at least 3 years of relevant professional experience,

OR

• Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience with a high school diploma.

Experience Requirements

Candidates with experience in the following areas will be preferred:

• Working with migrants, refugees, displaced persons, or vulnerable communities
• Liaising with:
  • Government authorities
  • UN agencies
  • International organizations
  • NGOs
• Humanitarian or protection-related programmes
• Multicultural work environments and international organizations

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of migration and reintegration programmes
• Good understanding of donor programming and financial regulations
• Excellent drafting and reporting skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities

Language Requirements

• Fluency in English and Tamil is mandatory
• Knowledge of Sinhala is an added advantage
