Job Overview
The Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka (SEC), the apex regulator of Sri Lanka’s capital market, is inviting applications from qualified and experienced professionals for the position of Board Secretary.
This role is ideal for individuals with strong governance, legal, finance, or corporate administration backgrounds who can support the effective functioning of the SEC Board and its committees while maintaining high standards of professionalism and confidentiality.

About the Organization
The Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka is responsible for regulating and developing the nation’s capital market while safeguarding investor confidence through transparent and ethical market practices.
Job Objective
The Board Secretary will support the lawful and efficient functioning of the SEC Board by:
- Managing Board and committee processes
- Preparing agendas and board papers
- Recording accurate minutes
- Advising on governance and procedural matters
- Maintaining official Board records
- Ensuring confidentiality and compliance with statutory requirements
Required Qualifications
Applicants should possess one of the following:
- Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university in:
- Finance
- Accountancy
- Corporate Governance
- Management
- Business Administration
- Or another relevant field
OR
- Be an Attorney-at-Law (Bachelor’s Degree in Law preferred)
OR
- Hold a professional qualification from a recognized Accounting Body
Additional Requirements
Candidates should possess:
- Bachelor’s Degree with a class or a Master’s Degree will be considered an added advantage
- Proven track record with relevant experience
- Experience coordinating Board and Board Committee meetings
- Ability to prepare:
- Agendas
- Board papers
- Minutes
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Age between 25 – 45 years
