Job Description

The Open University of Sri Lanka is seeking a qualified and experienced professional to oversee and manage the university’s security operations. The role requires expertise in security administration, supervision, coordination, and maintaining safety standards within a higher educational institution.

The ideal candidate should possess leadership qualities, operational discipline, and experience in security-related work.

Qualifications

Applicants should fulfill one of the following qualifications:

Option 01

• Officer not below the rank of:
  • Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP)

OR

• Captain of the Army

OR

• Officer of equivalent rank in other Armed Services

Option 02

• Degree from a recognized University / Higher Educational Institution

AND

• Minimum 05 years of experience in security work

Salary Scale

U-EX 1(II)

Rs. 85,305 – 3 x 2,020 – 91,365 (EB) 93,765; 12 x 2,400 – 122,565 per month

📌 The salary scale will be fully operative from 01.01.2027.

📌 Salary placement for the year 2026 will be according to University Grants Commission Circular No. 02/2025 dated 04.04.2025.

📌 Additional allowances applicable to the post will also be provided.

Method of Recruitment

• Selection will be through a structured interview
• Applicants scoring 40% or above at the interview will be eligible for selection
