Selected candidates may be assigned to any VTA work station islandwide based on service requirements.

Salary Scale

As per Public Administration Circular No. 01/2025:

• Salary Scale: Rs. 72,650 – 10 x 1,360 – 18 x 2,040 – 122,970
• Salary Step from 01.01.2025: Rs. 65,633.00
• Government approved allowances applicable

Job Responsibilities

• Assist in institutional planning and development activities.
• Support project coordination and implementation of organizational plans.
• Prepare planning reports, operational documents, and statistical data.
• Conduct data collection, analysis, and progress monitoring activities.
• Coordinate with departments and regional training centers regarding planning functions.
• Assist management in policy implementation and strategic development initiatives.
• Support vocational training and educational development projects.

Required Qualifications

External Applicants

Applicants should possess one of the following qualifications:

Option 1

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC)

Option 2

• NVQ Level 7 qualification issued by a TVEC-recognized technical or vocational training institute

Option 3

• NVQ Level 6 qualification issued by a TVEC-recognized technical or vocational training institute

AND

• Minimum 05 years of experience in the relevant field in:
  • Government institutions
  • Government corporations
  • Statutory bodies
  • Recognized private institutions after obtaining the qualification

Option 4

• NVQ Level 5 qualification issued by a TVEC-recognized technical or vocational training institute

AND

• Minimum 10 years of experience in the relevant field after obtaining the qualification.

Internal Applicants

Applicants should possess:

• Qualifications required for external applicants

OR

• Minimum 05 years of satisfactory service in:
  • Technical post under Operational / Instructor Services (MA 4)

OR

• Grade II post under Management Assistant – Technology category (MA 2-2).

Age Limit

• Minimum Age: 22 Years
• Maximum Age: 45 Years

The age limit does not apply to officers already employed in government or statutory institutions.

• Written competitive examination and/or
• Structured interview conducted by an approved board

The final recruitment decision will be made by the Chairman and Board of Directors of the Vocational Training Authority of Sri Lanka.
