Job Overview

The Ministry of Transport, Highways and Urban Development is inviting applications from qualified Sri Lankan citizens for the post of Engineer under the Inclusive Connectivity & Development Project (ICDP). The project focuses on enhancing national transport connectivity and infrastructure development across Sri Lanka.

Project Overview

The Inclusive Connectivity & Development Project (ICDP) is implemented under the Ministry of Transport, Highways and Urban Development to support infrastructure modernization, road connectivity improvement, and sustainable development initiatives throughout Sri Lanka.

Qualifications & Experience

Applicants should possess the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from a recognized university
• Membership of a recognized professional engineering institution will be an added advantage
• Minimum relevant experience in engineering-related projects
• Strong technical, analytical, and project coordination skills
• Ability to work independently and manage field-level activities
• Good communication and reporting skills

Relevant Engineering Field

• Civil Engineering or related field experience is preferred

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in:

• Infrastructure development projects
• Road and highway projects
• Government or donor-funded development projects

Age Limit

• Below 60 years for Government and Semi-Government officers
• Below 64 years for external applicants

Salary & Benefits

• Salary and allowances will be paid according to Management Services Circular No. 02/2026 issued by the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development.

Terms of Employment

• Contract basis appointment
• Initial appointment for one year
• Extensions may be granted based on service requirement and performance evaluations
