The Ministry of Transport, Highways and Urban Development is inviting applications from qualified Sri Lankan citizens, including Government and Semi-Government officers, for the post of Deputy Project Director under the Inclusive Connectivity & Development Project (ICDP).

Project Overview

The Inclusive Connectivity & Development Project (ICDP) is implemented under the Ministry of Transport, Highways and Urban Development to improve infrastructure connectivity and national development initiatives across Sri Lanka.

Qualifications & Experience

Applicants must fulfill one of the following qualification pathways specified under Category B of Management Services Circular No. 02/2026:

Option 1

• Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant field
• Postgraduate Degree (Master’s) / Associate Membership / Similar professional qualification from a recognized professional body
• Minimum 09 years of managerial experience in the relevant field
• Out of the above, 04 years should be at senior managerial level

Option 2

• Corporate/Fellow Membership from a recognized professional body in the relevant field
• Minimum 07 years of managerial experience
• Out of the above, 03 years should be at senior managerial level

Option 3

• Class I Officer of a Government All-Island Service or equivalent status
• Postgraduate Degree (Master’s) / Associate Membership / Similar professional qualification
• Minimum 03 years of experience in a Class I position or equivalent

Important Note

• The relevant field for this position is Civil Engineering
• Relevant experience must also be in the Civil Engineering field

Age Limit

• Below 60 years for Government/Semi-Government officers
• Below 64 years for external applicants

Salary & Benefits

• Salary and allowances will be paid according to Management Services Circular No. 02/2026 issued by the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development.

Terms of Employment

• Contract basis appointment
• Initial period of one year
• Extensions based on service requirement and performance evaluation
