Lanka Mineral Sands Limited (LMSL) is a government-owned enterprise under the Ministry of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development. The company is engaged in the mining, processing, and export of valuable mineral sands and operates one of Sri Lanka’s key mineral processing facilities at Pulmoddai. LMSL plays an important role in supporting the country’s industrial and export sectors.

Qualifications & Experience

External Applicants

Educational Qualifications

• Passed the G.C.E. Ordinary Level (O/L) Examination in six (06) subjects in not more than two sittings with two credit passes.

Technical Qualifications

• Possess a Proficiency Certificate of not less than National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 4.
• Qualification should be obtained from a technical or vocational training institution recognized by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC).
• Qualification must be relevant to the duties of an Electrician.

Internal Applicants

Applicants should possess one of the following:

• Employees in the Primary Semi-Skilled (PL-2) or Primary Non-Skilled (PL-1) service categories with five (05) years of experience in the electrical field and have passed a Trade Test of not less than NVQ Level 4 relevant to the position.

OR

• Hold a Certificate of Proficiency not less than NVQ Level 4 issued by a recognized Technical or Vocational Training Institution relevant to the Electrician position.

Age Limit

• Minimum Age: 18 Years
• Maximum Age: 45 Years
• Maximum age limit does not apply to internal applicants.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform electrical installation, maintenance, and repair activities.
• Troubleshoot and rectify electrical faults in plant machinery and equipment.
• Ensure smooth operation of electrical systems within the Pulmoddai Plant.
• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance work.
• Follow workplace safety regulations and electrical standards.
• Maintain records related to maintenance and electrical operations.
• Support plant operations by minimizing equipment downtime.

Required Skills

• Sound knowledge of electrical systems and industrial equipment.
• Ability to diagnose and repair electrical faults.
• Knowledge of industrial safety procedures and standards.
• Technical troubleshooting and maintenance skills.

Salary & Benefits

Salary Scale

PL-3 Salary Code: PL-3 Rs. 43,280/- – 490 x 10,540 x 10,590 x 10,630 x 12 = Rs. 67,040/-

• Initial monthly salary of Rs. 40,834/- will be paid from the date of recruitment according to Schedule II.

• Cost of Living Allowance – Rs. 17,800/-
• Monthly Food Allowance (based on attendance)
• Monthly Attendance Incentive
• Monthly Transport Allowance – Rs. 1,800/-
