Qualifications & Experience

Applicants should possess:

• Full membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) or an internationally recognized professional accounting body such as ACCA, CIMA, CPA or an equivalent qualification.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or Business Administration from a recognized university.
• A Master’s Degree or MBA will be a distinct advantage.
• Minimum 18 years of progressive experience in finance.
• At least 10 years of experience in a senior management role, preferably within the financial services sector.
• Thorough knowledge of Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) regulations, Finance Business Act, prudential requirements, SLFRS/LKAS, taxation, treasury management and corporate finance.
• Proven experience in financial planning and analysis, capital management, budgeting, business strategy and regulatory reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of the Company’s financial strategy in alignment with corporate goals and market conditions.
• Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and performance management.
• Ensure compliance with CBSL regulations, SLFRS/LKAS, Sri Lanka Public Sector Accounting Standards (SLPSAS) and applicable statutory requirements.
• Drive improvements in financial digitization, automation and operational efficiency within the finance function.
• Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing finance team while promoting accountability and continuous improvement.
• Monitor financial performance and initiate corrective actions to maintain financial stability, capital adequacy and profitability.
• Oversee the timely and accurate preparation of internal management reports for the Board and Corporate Management.
• Provide leadership for regulatory reporting in accordance with CBSL regulations, directions, guidelines and audit processes.
• Oversee the implementation of systems, processes and governance structures that support compliance, asset protection and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with Internal Audit, Risk Management and Compliance functions to strengthen financial discipline.
• Provide strategic leadership to the Business Intelligence and Analytics Unit to support data-driven decision-making.
• Champion advanced analytics, data governance and insights that enhance operational efficiency, risk management and business growth.
• Ensure financial discipline through effective expenditure monitoring, variance analysis and resource allocation.
