Librarian

Location: Malabe Campus, SLIIT

🎯 Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development of the library into a vibrant hub for learning and collaboration.
• Enhance access to global knowledge resources through emerging technologies.
• Support a diverse community of students, academics, researchers, and industry partners.
• Lead the integration of AI-enabled, data-driven, and digital learning tools.
• Create future-ready learning spaces that encourage creativity, collaboration, and innovation.
• Collaborate with globally renowned academic partners, including international university partners.
• Plan and manage resources across the library system.
• Work closely with senior management to support the strategic development of library services.
• Contribute to information literacy, digital scholarship, research excellence, and technology-enhanced learning.

🎓 Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in relevant fields.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in a well-established library.
• Proven experience suitable for a leadership role in a modern academic library environment.
• Ability to contribute to the development of technology-enabled learning and library services.
• Strong leadership and strategic planning capabilities.
• Ability to support research, innovation, digital learning, and academic excellence.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in reimagining the Library Learning Commons as a smart learning environment.

SLIIT’s main library hub at Malabe covers nearly 2,000 sqm and serves over 1,000 students, with access to extensive digital and print collections, international databases, e-journals, research resources, digital library systems, and technology-enhanced learning spaces.
