Job Overview
Browns Group Industrial Park (Pvt) Ltd is seeking a skilled and technically capable Solar PV Technician to support the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of Solar Photovoltaic (PV) systems at its Katunayake operations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for electrical wiring, testing, commissioning, preventive maintenance, fault diagnosis and repair of solar panels, inverters, batteries and related equipment while ensuring compliance with safety standards and company procedures.

Qualifications & Experience
- Certificate, Diploma or NVQ qualification in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy or a related field.
- Experience in Solar PV installation and maintenance will be an added advantage.
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems, solar equipment and renewable energy technologies.
- Practical understanding of solar panels, inverters, batteries and associated electrical equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work safely at heights.
- Willingness to travel to project sites when required.
- A valid driving licence will be an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain and troubleshoot Solar Photovoltaic (PV) systems.
- Perform electrical wiring, testing and commissioning of solar installations.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance activities.
- Diagnose and repair faults in solar panels, inverters, batteries and associated equipment.
- Identify electrical and system-related issues and implement appropriate corrective actions.
- Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with required safety standards and company procedures.
- Prepare service reports, maintenance records and technical documentation.
- Support project teams in ensuring efficient and reliable Solar PV system performance.
- Carry out maintenance activities according to required schedules and technical procedures.
- Assist with site-level technical requirements and troubleshooting when required.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of electrical systems and Solar PV technology.
- Practical knowledge of solar installation and maintenance.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical and solar system faults.
- Knowledge of solar panels, inverters, batteries and related equipment.
- Good understanding of electrical wiring, testing and commissioning.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Good technical documentation and reporting skills.
- Strong commitment to workplace and electrical safety.
- Ability to work at heights safely.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a technical team.
- Willingness to travel to project sites when required.
- Valid driving licence will be an added advantage.
