Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) degree from a recognized university.
- Registration with the Sri Lanka Pharmacy Council is mandatory.
- 0–2 years of experience in a hospital or community pharmacy is an added advantage.
- Good knowledge of drugs, dosage forms, drug interactions and pharmaceutical care.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office will be an advantage.
- Knowledge of pharmacy management systems will be an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Dispense medications accurately and ensure proper labeling.
- Review and verify prescriptions for appropriateness and safety.
- Counsel patients on the correct use of medicines and potential side effects.
- Maintain proper stock control and inventory records.
- Manage and monitor cold-chain pharmaceutical products where applicable.
- Ensure compliance with pharmacy laws, regulations and hospital policies.
- Prepare reports and maintain accurate pharmacy records.
- Monitor medication stocks and support timely replenishment.
- Maintain proper storage conditions for medicines and pharmaceutical products.
- Collaborate with doctors and other healthcare staff to ensure optimal patient care.
- Perform other pharmacy-related duties assigned by management.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical products and medicines.
- Good understanding of dosage forms and drug interactions.
- Strong prescription-review and medication-dispensing skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good patient counselling and customer service skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good inventory and stock-control skills.
- Knowledge of pharmacy regulations and professional standards.
- Good record-keeping and documentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team.
- Proficiency in MS Office and pharmacy management systems will be an advantage.
