Berendina Micro Investments Company Limited is seeking an experienced finance professional for the position of Assistant Manager – Finance. The selected candidate will be responsible for managing financial operations, preparing financial reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, supporting budgeting processes, and leading finance activities at the head office and branch level.

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a relevant qualification from a recognized university or institution.
• Membership or finalist-level completion of a recognized professional accounting qualification such as ICASL, CIMA, or ACCA.
• Around 5 years of hands-on experience in a similar finance role within a reputed organization.
• Sound knowledge of accounting standards (SLFRS / LKAS) and local industry-related taxation.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with strong leadership capabilities.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset.
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Proficiency in Sinhala/Tamil will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret monthly and annual financial statements.
• Liaise with external auditors to ensure timely and smooth finalization of audited financial statements.
• Coordinate with tax consultants and tax authorities while ensuring timely payments and declarations of statutory obligations.
• Lead the finance team at the head office and branch level.
• Prepare annual and quarterly financial budgets.
• Apply budgetary controls and improve financial processes.
• Manage efficient cash flow operations and present consolidated periodic cash flow reports.
• Identify and implement internal controls to ensure smooth financial operations.
• Manage day-to-day finance operations of the company.
• Support financial planning and reporting activities.
