Position Details

SITREK Technologies is seeking a Procurement Assistant to support the company’s procurement activities in Colombo.

The successful candidate will assist with supplier sourcing, quotations, purchasing, delivery coordination, procurement documentation and maintaining supplier records.

Qualifications & Experience

• G.C.E. (A/L) or an equivalent qualification.
• Previous experience in procurement, purchasing, stores or a related field will be an added advantage.
• A valid riding licence is mandatory.
• Own motorbike is mandatory.
• Experience in procurement-related activities will be advantageous.
• Candidates should be within the age range of 21–40 years.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day procurement activities.
• Source suppliers and obtain competitive quotations.
• Compare supplier quotations and support purchasing decisions.
• Negotiate prices, delivery schedules and payment terms.
• Prepare purchase orders and coordinate with suppliers.
• Monitor deliveries to ensure timely procurement of required materials.
• Maintain accurate procurement records.
• Maintain and update supplier databases.
• Coordinate with internal departments to fulfil procurement requirements.
• Follow up with suppliers regarding orders and deliveries.
• Support the procurement process to ensure materials are obtained efficiently and on time.

Required Skills

• Good communication skills.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Working knowledge of MS Office.
• Ability to communicate effectively with suppliers and internal departments.
• Good organisational and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Willingness to travel regularly for procurement-related duties.
• Valid riding licence and ability to use an own motorbike.
