Position Details

The Board Secretary will support the administrative and secretarial functions of the National Child Protection Authority and assist in the effective coordination of Board-related activities.

The position is classified under the JM 1-1 salary grade and is open to both external and internal candidates who meet the prescribed qualifications and experience requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

External Candidates

Applicants should satisfy either of the following requirements:

• A Degree recognized by the University Grants Commission with a qualifying experience in the relevant field; OR
• Having passed the Intermediate Examination of a professional Chartered Institute in the relevant subject area, together with one year of post-qualifying experience.

Internal Candidates

Applicants should satisfy either of the following requirements:

• Possess the qualifications required for external candidates; OR
• Completion of a minimum of 5 years of satisfactory service in a post of Associate Officer Category (MA 1) in the subject area relevant to the post; OR
• Completion of a minimum of 5 years of satisfactory service in a post of Management Assistant – Non-Technological (MA 1) in the relevant subject area.

Key Responsibilities

The Board Secretary will be expected to:

• Support the administrative and secretarial functions of the Authority.
• Assist with the coordination of Board-related activities.
• Prepare and maintain official administrative documentation.
• Coordinate meetings and related administrative arrangements.
• Maintain records and correspondence relevant to Board activities.
• Support communication between the Board, management and relevant stakeholders.
• Assist in ensuring the effective implementation of administrative procedures.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Authority.

• Strong administrative and organizational skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prepare official correspondence and documentation.
• Good coordination and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain confidential records and information.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively with senior officials and stakeholders.
• Good computer literacy and office administration skills.
• Ability to work responsibly within a statutory government institution.

Salary & Benefits

Salary Scale: JM 1-1 – 01/2025

Salary: Rs. 72,650 – 10 × Rs. 1,360 – 18 × Rs. 2,040 – Rs. 122,970 per month.

Basic Salary as at 01 January 2027: Rs. 72,650.

The applicable allowances and other benefits will be provided according to the relevant government and Authority regulations.
