Qualifications & Experience

Applicants should meet the following qualifications and experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree (B.Sc.) in Food Science, Food Technology, Agriculture, Biological Sciences, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Quality Assurance within the food or beverage processing industry.
• Candidates with dairy industry experience will have an added advantage.
• Alternatively, applicants with 5 years of relevant industry experience together with a Higher National Diploma or equivalent qualification will also be considered.
• Good knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and food safety standards.
• Experience using Quality Assurance software and laboratory systems.
• Strong knowledge of microbiological analysis and sensory evaluation techniques.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop a comprehensive understanding of quality assurance processes, laboratory testing, and food safety standards.
• Conduct chemical, physicochemical, organoleptic, and microbiological testing in accordance with quality plans.
• Perform inspections and quality evaluations throughout production operations.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, chemicals, reference samples, and documentation.
• Work closely with the Quality Assurance Manager to analyze customer feedback and improve product quality.
• Conduct competitive product analysis to support innovation and product development.
• Investigate quality issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Promote hygienic practices throughout factory and laboratory operations.
• Coordinate with external laboratories for specialized testing and quality verification.
• Support sustainability initiatives by reducing waste in laboratory and manufacturing processes.
• Conduct staff training on quality assurance, GMP, and food safety practices.
• Ensure compliance with the Integrated Management System (IMS), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and regulatory requirements.
• Perform additional quality assurance projects assigned by management.
