Job Overview

The Mahaweli Water Security Investment Program (MWSIP) – Stage II Project is inviting applications for the position of Management Assistant under the Commercial Agriculture Development (CAD) Project. This role is ideal for experienced administrative professionals who can provide efficient managerial and administrative support to ensure the smooth functioning of the Project Implementation Unit (PIU) and contribute to achieving project objectives.

Company Overview

The Mahaweli Water Security Investment Program (MWSIP) – Stage II Project is implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Lands and Irrigation with financial assistance from the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The Commercial Agriculture Development (CAD) Project focuses on strengthening agricultural productivity, promoting sustainable rural development, enhancing commercial agriculture, and improving livelihoods across Sri Lanka.

Qualifications & Experience

Applicants should satisfy one of the following qualification pathways:

• Passed the G.C.E. (O/L) Examination in six subjects at one sitting with Credit Passes in Sinhala/Tamil/English Language, Mathematics, and two other subjects.
• Passed the G.C.E. (A/L) Examination (excluding the Common General Test).
• Completed a minimum six-month Computer Applications Course.
• Possess at least two years of computer application experience.
• Have a minimum of six years of relevant work experience.

OR

• Be a Chartered Secretary with at least five years of relevant experience.

OR

• Have obtained an NVQ Level 5 or NVQ Level 6 Certificate issued by an accreditation body recognized by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission of Sri Lanka.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide managerial and administrative support to the Project Implementation Unit.
• Assist in the efficient operation of the assigned division or section.
• Maintain office records, documents, and correspondence.
• Prepare reports, letters, and administrative documentation.
• Coordinate meetings and administrative activities.
• Maintain confidential records and filing systems.
• Support project staff with day-to-day office administration.
• Assist in achieving project targets and organizational objectives.
• Perform additional administrative duties assigned by supervisors.

Salary & Benefits

• Salary Scale: MN 2 – 2025 Grade III
• Salary will be paid in accordance with MSD Circular No. 02/2026 and Public Administration Circular No. 10/2025.
• Cost of living allowance will be paid in addition to the approved salary.
• One-year contract renewable annually based on performance and project requirements.
• Opportunity to work in a nationally significant agriculture development programme funded by international development partners.
