Job Overview
The Family Planning Association of Sri Lanka (FPA Sri Lanka) is inviting applications from qualified consultants for the position of Consultant – Gender-Based Violence and Disability Inclusion. The consultant will provide technical expertise in designing and implementing a baseline study under the “Sexual and Reproductive Health Needs, Service Access, and Gender-Based Violence among Women with Disabilities in Selected Districts of Sri Lanka” project. This consultancy offers an opportunity to contribute to evidence-based research and strengthen disability-inclusive and survivor-centered approaches in Sri Lanka.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Community Medicine, Medicine, Nursing, Midwifery, Sociology, Gender Studies, Disability Studies, Psychology, Social Work, Demography, or a related discipline.
- Additional training or demonstrated expertise in gender-based violence (GBV), disability inclusion, research ethics, safeguarding, sexual and reproductive health (SRH), or human rights is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in SRH, GBV, disability inclusion, social research, or development programming.
- Proven experience in designing, implementing, or providing technical support for quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-method research.
- Strong understanding of SRH, contraception, reproductive cancer screening, GBV response, disability rights, intersectionality, and ethical research practices.
- Familiarity with national health systems, referral pathways, disability inclusion, and safeguarding frameworks.
- Experience using digital data collection platforms such as KoboToolbox or ODK is an advantage.
- Excellent written and spoken English. Knowledge of Sinhala and/or Tamil is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and refine the study protocol, questionnaires, informed consent forms, and data collection tools.
- Provide technical guidance to ensure SRH, GBV, disability inclusion, and ethical considerations are integrated into the study.
- Develop training materials and facilitate enumerator and field staff training.
- Support pilot testing and finalization of research tools.
- Provide technical oversight during field implementation and monitor data quality.
- Ensure ethical standards, safeguarding, confidentiality, and participant protection throughout the study.
- Support data analysis, interpretation, report writing, and dissemination of findings.
- Develop policy briefs, presentations, and evidence-based recommendations.
- Participate in stakeholder meetings and technical review sessions.
