Qualifications & Experience

External Candidates:

Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Science, Plantation Management, or Business Management from a university recognized by the UGC, with at least five years of post-qualifying experience in plantation management in a Government Department, Corporation, Board, or reputed Private Sector Plantation Company in an executive capacity.

Out of the required experience, at least three years should be as a Superintendent or Manager after obtaining the above qualification.

Or

Diploma in Plantation Management or Diploma in Agriculture from a recognized institution, with at least eight years of planting experience in a Government or reputed Private Sector Plantation Company in an executive capacity.

Out of the required experience, at least three years should be as a Superintendent or Manager after obtaining the above qualification.

Internal Candidates:

Minimum five years of experience in a post of Assistant Superintendent in the Junior Manager Category Grade 1.

Experience in Coconut or Rubber Plantation Management, Crop Diversification, Industrial Relations, and Computer use would be added qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee plantation management and estate-level operational activities.

Supervise and coordinate plantation staff and field operations.

Support productivity improvement, crop management, and plantation development activities.

Ensure effective implementation of company policies and operational standards.

Manage administrative, labour, and industrial relations matters related to plantation operations.

Support performance monitoring, reporting, and resource management.

Contribute to crop diversification and modern plantation management practices.

Required Skills

Strong knowledge of plantation management and field operations.

Leadership and team management skills.

Good understanding of coconut or rubber plantation operations.

Ability to manage labour relations and operational challenges.

Administrative and reporting skills.

Computer literacy.

Problem-solving and decision-making ability.

Ability to work in a plantation environment with responsibility and discipline.

Salary & Benefits

Salary Scale: MM 1-1 Rs.91,690 – Rs.168,240 + Cost of Living Allowance

Salary Structure: Rs.91,690 + Rs.2,480 x 10 + Rs.3,450 x 15 = Rs.168,240
