Organization Overview

The Office on Missing Persons (OMP) is an independent institution established under the Office on Missing Persons (Establishment, Administration and Discharge of Functions) Act No. 14 of 2016. The institution is responsible for addressing issues related to missing and disappeared persons in Sri Lanka.

Qualifications & Experience

Applicants should possess:

• A Degree in Law, Social Science, or Criminology recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

Key Responsibilities

• Support the organization’s research activities.
• Collect and organize relevant information and documentation.
• Conduct research assignments under the guidance of senior officers.
• Build relationships with institutions to strengthen research capacity.
• Gather and maintain research data and records.
• Monitor and compile important news and media reports related to the organization’s objectives.
• Assist with research-related projects and assignments.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by management.

Required Skills

• Strong research and analytical skills.
• Excellent information gathering and documentation abilities.
• Report writing and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Computer literacy.
• Sound knowledge of transitional justice will be an added advantage.

Salary & Benefits

Salary Scale:
JM 1-1 2025 – Rs. 72,650 – 10×1,360 – 18×2,040 – Rs. 122,970.
