Qualifications & Experience
Phlebotomist
- G.C.E. Advanced Level (A/L) with passes in at least two subjects in any stream.
- Certificate or Diploma in Phlebotomy or a related healthcare qualification.
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in blood collection and specimen handling.
- Good communication and patient care skills.
- Knowledge of infection control and laboratory safety procedures.
Trainee Phlebotomist
- G.C.E. Advanced Level (A/L) with passes in at least two subjects in any stream.
- Certificate in Phlebotomy or currently following a recognized phlebotomy-related course.
- Strong willingness to learn and develop professional skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for healthcare and patient service.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect blood samples and other specimens according to established procedures.
- Ensure patient comfort and safety during specimen collection.
- Maintain accurate specimen labeling and documentation.
- Follow infection control and laboratory safety protocols.
- Handle and transport specimens appropriately for laboratory testing.
- Assist in maintaining laboratory quality standards.
- Provide courteous and professional patient care.
- Support laboratory staff with daily operational requirements.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational policies.
