Job Overview
FPA Sri Lanka is inviting applications for the positions of Project Manager and Project Coordinator for a multi-component project focused on improving access to inclusive, rights-based Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) services for persons with disabilities in Sri Lanka. The organization is an accredited member of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) and actively works on community engagement, service delivery improvements, research, and advocacy initiatives.
Project Manager – Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Project Management, or related field
- Master’s degree will be an added advantage
- Minimum 7 years of experience in the NGO or development sector
- Experience in project management and donor-funded projects
- Experience in SRHR, disability inclusion, or GBV-related programs is desirable
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English and Sinhala
- Tamil and/or sign language skills will be an added advantage
- Strong leadership, coordination, reporting, and communication skills
- Ability to independently manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Willingness to travel to project locations
Project Manager – Key Responsibilities
- Lead overall project planning, implementation, coordination, and monitoring
- Develop detailed work plans, timelines, and resource allocations
- Ensure timely implementation of project components and objectives
- Maintain relationships with government stakeholders, CSOs, and disability organizations
- Ensure donor compliance and procurement process management
- Implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks including data collection and reporting
- Prepare progress reports and donor reports
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies
Project Coordinator – Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Project Management, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in project coordination, communications, or social media management
- NGO sector experience preferred
- Strong social media management skills (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.)
- Experience in content creation, storytelling, photography/videography, and basic graphic design tools such as Canva
- Good understanding of SRHR, disability inclusion, or development sector work
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English and Sinhala
- Tamil and/or sign language skills will be an added advantage
- Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
- Willingness to travel when required
Project Coordinator – Key Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day coordination and implementation of project activities
- Organize meetings, workshops, trainings, and field activities
- Maintain communication with government agencies, CSOs, and disability organizations
- Maintain project documentation and activity records
- Lead project communication and visibility activities
- Manage and update social media platforms
- Develop communication materials including IEC materials, videos, and social media content
- Support report preparation and documentation processes
- Coordinate assigned tasks to ensure project efficiency
