Job Overview

Sugarcane Research Institute is inviting applications for the post of Senior Technology Transfer Officer (MM 1-1) under the Ministry of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development.

The selected candidate will be attached to the Sugarcane Research Institute, Uda Walawe.

Qualifications

External Candidates

Applicants should possess:

• A four-year Degree in:
  • Agriculture
  • Agricultural Extension
  • Science
  • Engineering
• Degree from a university recognized by the U.G.C.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 02 years of experience in:
  • Technology transfer
  • Agricultural extension
  • Research dissemination
  • Farmer training programmes
• Experience in project coordination and field-level activities will be an added advantage

Internal Candidates

Applicants should possess:

• Relevant degree qualification

AND

• Minimum 05 years satisfactory service in a related post within the institute

Skills & Competencies

• Good communication and presentation skills
• Ability to work with farmers and stakeholders
• Knowledge of agricultural extension and training methodologies
• Leadership and organizational skills
• Computer literacy and report writing ability

Age Limit

For MM 1-1 Salary Category:

• Minimum Age: 22 years
• Maximum Age: 45 years

(Upper age limit will not apply to internal candidates and applicants from Government Departments, Corporations, and Statutory Boards.)

Salary Scale

MM 1-1 – 2025

• Salary Scale: Rs. 56,140 – 10×1,375 – 15×1,910 – 98,415/-

Salary placement will be according to Management Services Circular provisions.

Selection will be through a structured interview.
