Job Overview

Sugarcane Research Institute is calling for applications for the post of Principal Technology Transfer Officer (HM 1-1) under the Ministry of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development.

The selected candidate will serve at the Sugarcane Research Institute, Uda Walawe.

Qualifications

External Candidates

Applicants should possess:

• A four-year Degree in:
  • Agriculture
  • Agricultural Extension
  • Science
  • Engineering
• Degree obtained with a class from a university recognized by the U.G.C.

AND

• A Postgraduate Degree / PhD in a relevant discipline from a recognized university

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of experience in:
  • Technology transfer
  • Extension services
  • Agricultural development
  • Research-related activities
• Experience in managing extension or outreach programmes will be an added advantage
• Proven ability in farmer training, dissemination of technology, and stakeholder coordination

Internal Candidates

Applicants should possess:

• Relevant postgraduate qualification

AND

• Minimum 5 years satisfactory service in a senior Technology Transfer related post within the institute

Skills & Competencies

• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Ability to coordinate field programmes and training sessions
• Leadership and team management skills
• Knowledge in agricultural extension methodologies and rural development

Age Limit

For HM 1-1 Salary Category:

• Minimum Age: 30 years
• Maximum Age: 45 years

(Upper age limit will not apply to internal candidates and applicants from Government Departments, Corporations, and Statutory Boards.)

Salary Scale

HM 1-1 – 2025

• Salary Scale: Rs. 91,645 – 10×2,480 – 15×3,450 – 168,235/-

Salary placement will be according to Management Services Circular provisions.

Selection Method

Selection will be based on a structured interview.
