Salary Scale

As per Public Administration Circular No. 01/2025:

• Salary Scale: Rs. 72,650 – 10 x 1,360 – 18 x 2,040 – 122,970
• Salary Step from 01.01.2025: Rs. 65,633.00
• Government approved allowances applicable

Job Responsibilities

• Conduct and coordinate vocational testing and evaluation activities.
• Support assessment procedures and quality assurance systems.
• Prepare testing schedules, evaluation reports, and assessment documentation.
• Monitor institutional performance and educational standards.
• Assist in developing testing methodologies and evaluation frameworks.
• Coordinate with training centers, instructors, and administrative divisions.
• Support continuous improvement of vocational training assessment systems.

Required Qualifications

External Applicants

Applicants should possess one of the following qualifications:

Option 1

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC)

Option 2

• NVQ Level 7 qualification issued by a TVEC-recognized technical or vocational training institute

Option 3

• NVQ Level 6 qualification in the relevant field from:
  • National Diploma in Technology (NDT)
  • National Diploma in Engineering Sciences (NDES)
  • Higher National Diploma in Engineering (HNDE)
  • Diploma in Engineering Technology – Open University of Sri Lanka

AND

• Minimum 05 years of experience in the relevant field in:
  • Government institutions
  • Government corporations
  • Statutory bodies
  • Recognized private institutions after obtaining the qualification

Option 4

• NVQ Level 5 qualification issued by a TVEC-recognized technical or vocational training institute

AND

• Minimum 10 years of experience in the relevant field after obtaining the qualification.

Internal Applicants

Applicants should possess:

• Qualifications required for external applicants

OR

• Minimum 05 years of satisfactory service as:
  • Senior Instructor under Operational / Instructor Services (MA 4)

OR

• Instructor Grade II under Management Assistant – Technology category (MA 2-2).

Age Limit

• Minimum Age: 22 Years
• Maximum Age: 45 Years

The age limit does not apply to officers already employed in government or statutory institutions.
