Job Responsibilities

• Provide professional medical care to patients admitted to wards and ICUs.
• Attend to patient complaints, emergencies, and routine clinical requirements.
• Monitor patient progress and update consultants regarding patient conditions.
• Assist consultants during ward rounds and follow medical instructions accurately.
• Coordinate with nurses and healthcare staff to ensure smooth patient care.
• Maintain accurate patient records, clinical notes, investigation reports, and treatment plans.
• Respond promptly to emergency situations within the hospital.
• Ensure patient safety, confidentiality, and ethical medical practice at all times.
• Support hospital policies, infection control practices, and clinical quality standards.

Required Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent qualification registrable with the Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC).
• Valid Sri Lanka Medical Council registration is mandatory.
• Previous clinical experience in a hospital environment will be an added advantage.
• Willingness to work in ICUs and wards.
• Ability to work roster shifts, night duties, weekends, and public holidays when required.
• Strong clinical knowledge and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Responsible, disciplined, and patient-focused attitude.
• Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
