Job Description

Rhino Roofing Products Ltd., a leading company in Sri Lanka’s hardware and construction industry, is seeking a motivated Technical Officer for its Research & Development Department. The selected candidate will support product development activities, prepare technical documentation, supervise project-related work, and coordinate with operational teams on R&D initiatives.

This role is suitable for candidates with technical expertise in construction, CAD drawing preparation, testing procedures, and project coordination.

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare CAD drawings for new products and sample preparations
• Prepare BOQ and scope documents related to R&D projects
• Report project progress to the R&D Manager
• Coordinate with operational teams and contractors regarding project specifications
• Supervise construction and R&D-related work
• Monitor construction programs for R&D products
• Conduct tests and trials to evaluate product effectiveness
• Collaborate with factory operation teams during product testing
• Manage technicians and mechanics within the R&D department

Candidate Requirements

• NVQ Level 5 qualification
• 1–2 years of experience as a Technical Officer
• Good communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively
• Strategic thinking and multitasking abilities
• Computer literacy including AutoCAD and office software
• Good presentation and interpersonal skills
