Role Overview

Sri Lanka Telecom is offering a trainee opportunity for motivated individuals to start a career in the technology sector. Trainees will gain hands-on experience, receive specialized training, and develop skills within a dynamic work environment.

Eligibility Criteria

• Education: Applicants must have six passes at the G.C.E. (O/L) exam, including Sinhala/Tamil, English Language, and Mathematics, with at least 03 credit passes in one sitting.

• Age: The upper age limit is 35 years.

• Gender: This opportunity is for male applicants.

Training Program Details

• Duration: The program spans two years.

• Schedule: In-house sessions are held every Friday and Saturday from 09:00 to 17:00. During the first months, essential hands-on training related to field operations will be provided six days per week.

• Locations: In-house training is at the SLT-Mobitel Nebula Institute of Technology in Moratuwa, with in-plant training at SLT Regional Operations Centers (OPMC) across the island.

• Allowance: An internship allowance of LKR 1,750 per day is provided during the in-plant training period.

• Certification: Successful completion leads to an NVQ Level 4 certificate.

Cost and Permanent Employment

• Course Fee: The total fee for the program is LKR 120,000.00, which will be deducted in 24 equal installments (LKR 5,000/- per month) from the internship allowance for selected applicants.

• Permanent Cadre: Those who obtain the NVQ 4 certificate and possess a valid driving license (minimum “B” vehicle class) will be considered for recruitment to the permanent cadre based on vacancy availability.
