Job Description

The Technical Assistant will support technical and engineering functions of the authority, including machinery maintenance, workshop operations, and field-level technical activities. The role requires hands-on technical skills and the ability to work efficiently in a structured government environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment
• Support engineering and workshop operations
• Carry out technical and field-level tasks as assigned
• Maintain accurate records related to machinery and repairs
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures and operational guidelines
• Provide technical assistance to engineers and supervisors

Requirements

Educational Qualifications

• Passed G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination in six subjects with at least four credits, including Sinhala/Tamil, English, and Mathematics
• Passed all subjects (except General English) in the G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination
  OR
• Qualification sufficient to pursue tertiary education

Technical Qualifications

• Completed a technical course in a relevant field such as:
  • Automobile repair
  • Mechanical engineering
  • Automobile electrical engineering
  • Air conditioning
  • Painting and sheet metal work
  • Blacksmithing
• Qualification must be recognized by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC)
• NVQ Level 5 or equivalent relevant certification

Age Limit

• Between 18 – 35 years

Salary & Benefits

• Salary Scale: MA 2-2-2025
  50,540 – 10×540 – 7,630 – 4×1,080 – 20×1,280 – 90,270 + allowances
• Additional Benefits:

  • Other government allowances
