Job Description

The Sheet Metal Worker will be responsible for fabrication, repair, and maintenance of metal components used in machinery and vehicles. The role requires hands-on technical expertise in sheet metal work and the ability to operate tools and equipment in a workshop environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Fabricate and repair metal parts for machinery and vehicles
• Perform cutting, bending, shaping, and assembling of sheet metal
• Carry out welding and finishing work as required
• Maintain tools, equipment, and workshop safety standards
• Assist in machinery maintenance and technical operations
• Keep records of work performed and materials used

Requirements

Educational Qualifications

• Passed G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination with a minimum of six subjects, including Sinhala/Tamil, English, and Mathematics

Technical Qualifications

• Completed a technical training course in Sheet Metal Work or a related field
• Qualification must be recognized by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC)
• NVQ Level 4 or above in a relevant field

Experience

• Previous experience in sheet metal fabrication or workshop operations will be an added advantage

Age Limit

• Between 18 – 35 years

Salary & Benefits

• Salary Scale: PL 2-2-2025
  40,920 – 10×435 – 6,350 – 4×780 – 18×1,080 – 74,580 + allowances
