Lanka Hospitals Diagnostics (Private) Limited is looking for a dynamic and results-oriented professional to join its team as Supervisor – Microbiology. The selected candidate will oversee daily laboratory operations, ensure accurate and timely results, maintain quality standards and support the efficient functioning of the Microbiology section.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology or B.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Science with SLMC Registration.
• M.Sc. qualification will be an added advantage.
• Leadership qualities and the ability to work independently with a strong sense of responsibility.
• Good computer literacy.
• Fluency in English.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage daily operations of all microbiology and serology benches, including sample reception, processing and operation of automated equipment.
• Allocate staff to different benches and ensure smooth specimen processing flow in the absence of the In-charge.
• Identify and prioritize urgent specimens and review results.
• Supervise maintenance of quality control in all procedures and ensure compliance with laboratory standards.
• Verify and review test results within the given TAT.
• Perform interpretation in liaison with the Consultant Microbiologist and take timely action on critical results.

Required Skills

• Knowledge of microbiology and serology laboratory operations.
• Leadership and staff coordination skills.
• Ability to work independently with a strong sense of responsibility.
• Good computer literacy.
• Fluency in English.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to prioritize urgent specimens.
• Ability to maintain laboratory quality control standards.
• Ability to review and interpret results in coordination with the Consultant Microbiologist.
