Qualifications & Experience
- B.Sc. in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or Industrial Engineering
- Minimum 7 years and above of experience in maintenance or industrial engineering in the food and beverage industry
- Proven automation experience (PLCs such as Allen Bradley/Siemens, HMIs, VFDs, sensors) alongside solid mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic skills
- Working knowledge of CIP, hygienic design, ISO 22000, HACCP and GMP
- A strong plus: background in the dairy or coconut processing industry, experience with GEA, Tetra Pak or Krones lines, AutoCAD or SolidWorks skills, and predictive maintenance tools (vibration analysis, thermal imaging)
Key Responsibilities
- Lead installation and commissioning of new digital equipment (fillers, pasteurisers, CIP, packaging lines), working directly with international OEM vendors
- Take full ownership of plant reliability across legacy mechanical and new automated machinery
- Build and lead a team of 2 to 4 maintenance technicians
- Drive preventive and predictive maintenance with one goal: near-zero unplanned downtime
Required Skills
- Fluent English, plus Sinhala and/or Tamil
- Leadership and team-building skills
- Strong troubleshooting across mechanical and automated systems
