Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or Certificate in Banking & Finance from the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka, a Diploma in Credit Management from a recognized professional institution, or an equivalent professional qualification.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in managing credit portfolios within a reputed banking or finance organization.
• At least 3 years of experience in approving credit facilities.
• Strong knowledge of credit policies, banking regulations, and credit risk management practices.
• Experience in managing credit portfolios, including Islamic finance products, will be an advantage.
• Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and decision-making skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Sinhala.
• Proficiency in Tamil will be an added advantage.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and computer applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate credit proposals and provide credit risk opinions, recommendations, and approvals in accordance with approved lending policies.
• Oversee regional credit risk management functions and administration of lending portfolios.
• Review and monitor credit facilities to ensure portfolio quality and compliance.
• Maintain a healthy advances portfolio through effective pre-credit and post-credit portfolio management.
• Conduct periodic credit audits and reviews to ensure sound credit decisions.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and governance standards.
• Support business growth while maintaining prudent credit risk management practices.
• Prepare reports and recommendations for senior management regarding portfolio performance and risk.
