Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Conveyancing Unit in land registry matters, including title searches and attesting Mortgage Bonds and other Notarial Instruments.
• Represent the Bank before courts and tribunals in civil and criminal litigation when required.
• Draft, review, and vet commercial agreements and other legal documentation.
• Provide legal opinions and advisory support on legal matters affecting the Bank.

Candidate Requirements

Applicants should possess:

• Attorney-at-Law and Notary Public authorized to practice within the jurisdiction of Colombo, with a valid Notarial License to practice in English.
• LL.B, LL.M, or higher qualification in Law from a recognized institution (added advantage).
• 6–8 years of relevant experience in a commercial bank, financial institution, or reputable law firm.
• Strong practical experience in conveyancing and court proceedings.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (Tamil proficiency is an added advantage).
• Ability to work efficiently in a computerized environment.
• Strong time management, service orientation, and the ability to work independently in a high-pressure environment.
