Job Description

The Head of Leasing will oversee the entire leasing portfolio, develop strategic initiatives, and ensure operational excellence within the division. The role involves managing credit risk, expanding the client base, and aligning leasing operations with corporate objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the overall leasing portfolio to ensure sustainable growth and profitability
• Develop and implement strategic plans to expand leasing business operations
• Drive business development initiatives to acquire new clients and strengthen existing relationships
• Oversee credit evaluation, risk assessment, and approval processes for leasing proposals
• Ensure compliance with Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) regulations and internal policies
• Monitor portfolio performance, including arrears management, recovery strategies, and asset quality
• Collaborate with Sales, Credit, Legal, and Operations teams for efficient service delivery
• Lead, mentor, and develop the leasing team to achieve business targets
• Prepare and present performance reports, market insights, and risk assessments to senior management
• Identify new market opportunities, products, and strategic partnerships

Requirements

• Minimum 8–12 years of experience in the financial services sector
• At least 3 years in a senior managerial role in leasing or asset finance
• Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Credit Management, or a related field
• Professional qualifications such as SLIM or CIM will be an added advantage
• Strong knowledge of leasing operations, credit risk management, and regulatory requirements in Sri Lanka
• Proven track record in business growth and portfolio management
• Excellent leadership, decision-making, and people management skills
• Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and relationship management abilities
• Good understanding of market trends and competitor activities in the leasing sector
