Central Bank of Sri Lanka is inviting applications from qualified and experienced Sri Lankan citizens for the post of Driver (On Contract Basis).

The position is aimed at candidates with extensive government sector driving experience and strong knowledge of transport operations, vehicle maintenance, and road safety regulations.

  • Bank requirements
• Maximum contract duration:

📌 Officers recruited on contract basis will not be absorbed into the permanent cadre of CBSL.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate CBSL vehicles safely and professionally while complying with:
  • Traffic regulations
  • Road safety standards
  • CBSL transport policies
• Conduct:
  • Pre-trip inspections
  • Post-trip inspections
  • Fuel level monitoring
  • Vehicle servicing coordination
• Provide reliable transportation for:
  • CBSL staff
  • Senior management
  • Official guests
  • Authorized errands
• Maintain:
  • Accurate logbooks
  • Trip records
• Report:
  • Road incidents
  • Vehicle defects
  • Maintenance issues
• Ensure:
  • Confidentiality
  • Security compliance
  • Professional conduct
• Support transport operations with minor administrative and logistical tasks

Educational Qualifications

• Passed G.C.E. Ordinary Level in one sitting with:
  • 05 credit passes

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of experience as a Driver in the Government Sector

Age Requirement

• Applicants must be:
  • Not less than 45 years
  • Not more than 57 years

📅 Age will be considered as at 14.06.2026

Mandatory Requirements

• Minimum 20 years valid driving license in category:
  • “D” under the new vehicle class categorization
  • (Category “A” under previous classification)
• License should cover:
  • Vehicle classes B, B1, C, and C1
• Clean driving record without:
  • Suspension
  • License cancellation
• Physically and mentally fit to drive with:
  • Good eyesight
  • Good hearing
• Government medical officer certification required
• Valid police clearance report required

Salary & Benefits

• Monthly taxable allowance:
  • Rs. 100,000.00
• Additional benefits:
  • EPF contributions
  • ETF contributions

Selection Procedure
