Educational Qualifications

Applicants should possess one of the following:

Option 1

• A Degree in:
  • Automobile Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering

recognized by the University Grants Commission

AND

• A Postgraduate Degree (Master’s) in the relevant field

OR

• Membership of a recognized professional Chartered Institute relevant to the post

WITH

• Minimum fifteen (15) years experience at managerial level in:
  • Government Departments
  • Corporations
  • Statutory Boards
  • Reputed private institutions

Option 2

• Fellow Membership of a recognized Professional Chartered Institution relevant to the post

WITH

• Minimum fifteen (15) years experience at managerial level in a reputed institution

Internal Candidates

Internal applicants should possess:

• Qualifications required for external candidates

OR

• Minimum five (05) years satisfactory service in a Manager (MM) Category Grade 1 post relevant to the subject area

Salary Scale

• HM 1-1
• Rs. 140,640 – 202,140

Current Salary as at 01.01.2026

• Approximately Rs. 123,019/-
• Government-approved allowances applicable

Method of Recruitment

• Structured Interview

Age Limit

• Minimum age: 35 years
• Maximum age: 55 years
• Maximum age limit will not apply to internal candidates

General Conditions

Applicants should:

• Be citizens of Sri Lanka
• Be physically and mentally fit
• Possess excellent moral character

Selected external candidates will be placed on probation for three years.
