Qualifications & Experience

Applicants should possess:

• A valid Certificate of Competency as Officer in Charge of a Navigational Watch on ships less than 500 GT engaged on Near Coastal Voyages (NCV), issued by or recognized by the Director General of Merchant Shipping of Sri Lanka, or issued by the Maritime Administration of India or Australia.
• OR Any higher valid Certificate of Competency issued by or recognized by the Director General of Merchant Shipping of Sri Lanka or the Maritime Administration of India or Australia.
• Minimum 2 years of seagoing experience as an Officer in Charge of a Navigational Watch.
• Applicants should be below 45 years of age. This age limit does not apply to applicants currently employed in Government Departments or State Corporations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in navigation and dredging operations within port limits.
• Support safe vessel movement and marine traffic operations.
• Monitor navigational activities in accordance with maritime regulations.
• Assist in dredging vessel operations and maintenance planning.
• Ensure compliance with port safety standards and marine operational procedures.
• Prepare operational reports and maintain navigation records.
• Coordinate with marine services and other operational divisions.
• Perform duties assigned by the Sri Lanka Ports Authority related to marine operations.

Salary & Benefits

• Salary Category: 5:0 (Junior Level Management).
• Basic Salary: Rs. 75,065 per month.
• Annual Increment: Rs. 1,440.
• Approximate Gross Monthly Salary: Rs. 170,000, inclusive of allowances.
• Additional benefits will be provided according to Sri Lanka Ports Authority policies.
