Position Details

The Assistant Manager – Finance will assist the Finance Manager in managing day-to-day accounting and finance operations, financial reporting, cash flow, budgeting, compliance and the supervision of junior accounting staff.

Qualifications & Experience

Candidates should possess:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Part qualification in CA, CIMA, ACCA, or CMA will be an added advantage.
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting and reconciliation procedures.
• Experience handling:
  • Accounts Payable (AP)
  • Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • General Ledger
  • Bank Reconciliation
  • Month-end closing
• Good knowledge of MS Excel and accounting software/ERP systems.
• Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage deadlines and handle multiple responsibilities.
• High level of accuracy, integrity and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Finance Manager in managing daily accounting and finance operations.
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements, management reports and account schedules.
• Handle accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, payments and collections.
• Monitor bank reconciliations and ensure accurate recording of financial transactions.
• Maintain the general ledger and proper documentation of accounting entries.
• Assist with monthly closing activities and ensure accounts are finalized on time.
• Monitor cash flow and support preparation of cash flow forecasts.
• Assist with budgeting, financial planning and variance analysis.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations and company policies.
• Coordinate with auditors, banks, suppliers and other relevant parties when required.
• Supervise and guide junior accounting staff in their daily activities.
• Identify accounting discrepancies and take appropriate action to resolve them.
• Maintain proper financial records and ensure confidentiality of financial information.
