🎓 Required Qualifications
1️⃣ Educational / Professional Qualifications
Applicants must:
- Have sworn in as an Attorney-at-Law in the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka
2️⃣ Experience Requirements
Candidates must have:
- At least 03 years of active professional experience after swearing in as an Attorney-at-Law
OR - Minimum 03 years of experience in a legal-related post in a public institution after swearing in

- Experience letters must clearly indicate the date of commencement and last date of service.
- Copies of all required documents must be self-certified and attached to the application.

Applicants must:
- Be a citizen of Sri Lanka
- Be between 21 and 45 years of age as of the closing date
- Possess excellent moral character
- Be physically and mentally fit to serve anywhere in Sri Lanka
💰 Salary Scale – 2026
The position carries the monthly salary scale:
Rs. 82,150 – 10 x 2,400 – 8 x 2,940 – 17 x 3,900 – Rs. 195,970 (SL1–2025)
This is a permanent and pensionable post, subject to government pension policies and contribution to the Widows’/Widowers’ and Orphans’ Pension Scheme.
📝 Selection Method & Marking Scheme (Total 100 Marks)
The interview for evaluating eligibility will be conducted based on a structured marking scheme .
🔹 1. Additional Educational Qualifications (Max 25 Marks)
Marks are awarded for:
- Postgraduate Degree in Law
- Postgraduate Diploma in Law
- Law Degree (First Class / Second Class Upper / Class / General)
- Honors Pass at Law College Final Examination
🔹 2. Additional Legal Experience (Max 35 Marks)
Marks will be awarded for:
- Preparation of legal documents
- Appearing before:
- Supreme Court
- Court of Appeal
- High Court
- District Court
- Administrative Appeals Tribunal
Supporting documents must be submitted at the interview.
🔹 3. Knowledge in IT or IT Law (Max 10 Marks)
Marks will be given for:
- Degree in IT/Computer Science
- Diploma in ICT Law
- NVQ Level 5 or higher in IT
- ICT-related certificate programs
🔹 4. English Language Proficiency (Max 15 Marks)
Marks awarded for:
- Degree with English as main subject
- Moot Court achievements
- Diploma in English
- IELTS (6.5+), TOEFL qualifications
- Advanced Certificate in English
🔹 5. Interview Performance (Max 15 Marks)
Evaluation will be based on:
- Strength-based questions
- Situational questions
- Competency-based questions
