Qualifications & Requirements

• Registered Nurse (General) with valid registration from the Sri Lanka Nursing Council (SLNC).
• Diploma in Nursing or Degree in Nursing from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a hospital service unit. Fresh candidates may also apply.
• Sound knowledge of patient care standards and infection control practices.
• Ability to monitor patients and identify changes in their condition.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a team and under pressure.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
• Basic computer literacy and familiarity with the Hospital Information System (HIS) will be an added advantage.
• Compassionate, responsible, and committed to delivering quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to patients in the service units.
• Monitor and accurately record patients’ vital signs and overall condition.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by medical staff.
• Assist doctors during ward rounds and clinical procedures.
• Ensure patient comfort, hygiene, and basic daily care needs.
• Educate patients and caregivers on treatment plans and discharge instructions.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date nursing documentation in the HIS.
• Follow hospital policies, procedures, and infection control guidelines.
• Respond promptly to patient needs and report any changes to the nurse in charge.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.
