Job Overview

Nawaloka Hospitals PLC is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Medical Laboratory Technologist (Senior MLT) to join its Main Laboratory team and contribute to accurate, reliable, and timely laboratory services.

Qualifications & Requirements

• BSc in Medical Laboratory Science from a recognized university or institution.
• Registration with the Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC) as a Medical Laboratory Technologist.
• 3–5 years of experience in a hospital laboratory, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, quality assurance and control, and biosafety standards.
• Experience in laboratory management, staff supervision, and workflow coordination.
• Proficiency in laboratory instruments and Laboratory Information Systems (LIS).
• Good communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in shifts and under pressure.
• Commitment to accuracy, integrity, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and supervise daily operations of the Main Laboratory.
• Ensure accurate, timely, and efficient testing and reporting of laboratory investigations.
• Validate and authorize test results.
• Ensure compliance with quality assurance, quality control, and accreditation standards.
• Maintain and monitor laboratory equipment, reagents, and inventory.
• Train, guide, and evaluate MLT staff and supporting personnel.
• Coordinate workflow and ensure optimum utilization of resources.
• Ensure adherence to biosafety, infection control, and laboratory safety protocols.
• Prepare reports, analyze performance indicators, and initiate corrective actions.
• Liaise with clinicians and other departments to ensure high-quality patient service.
