Internal Auditor – Smallholder Agribusiness Partnerships Programme (SAPP)

Smallholder Agribusiness Partnerships (SAPP) Programme, implemented under the Ministry of Agriculture, Land, Livestock and Irrigation, invites applications from qualified citizens of Sri Lanka for the position of Internal Auditor – 01 Post (Category D1).

SAPP is implemented islandwide and focuses on developing 4P (Public, Private, Producer Partnerships) value-chain projects to support smallholder farmers and sustainable rural development.

Educational Qualifications & Experience

Applicants should satisfy one of the following qualification pathways:

Option 1

• Bachelor’s Degree or a qualification recognized by the University Grants Commission as equivalent to a degree in the relevant field.
• Passed the Licentiate II / Intermediate Examination / Certificate II in Accounting and Business / Business Level Examination / Corporate Level Examination or a higher examination of the Institute of Chartered Accountants or a similar professional qualification from a recognized professional body in the relevant field.
• Minimum 6 years of post-qualifying experience in the relevant field.

Option 2

• Associate Membership or a similar professional qualification obtained from a recognized professional body in the relevant field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in the relevant field.

Option 3

• Class I/II/III officer of Government All-Island Services or similar status in the relevant field.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in a Class II/III post or similar status in the relevant field.

Preferred Experience

Preference will be given to candidates with:

• Extensive experience in agricultural partnership projects or foreign-funded projects.
• Experience in project auditing will be considered an advantage.

Age Limit

Applicants should be below 64 years as at the closing date of applications.

Salary

Salary Scale: Based on Management Services Circular No. 02/2026 of the Treasury.

Language & Computer Skills

Applicants should have:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Sinhala/Tamil.
• Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
• Working knowledge of another official language is desirable.
• Most of the work will need to be carried out independently.

Appointment

As per Management Services Circular No. 02/2026, the appointment will be made on a contract basis up to 31 March 2027.

Contributions will be made by the Employer and Employee according to the relevant Acts.

Method of Selection

Only shortlisted applicants based on their highest qualifications and experience will be called for an interview.

Final selection will be based on the candidate’s performance at the interview.
