Chief Executive Officer – The Co-operative Wholesale Establishment

The Co-operative Wholesale Establishment (CWE) under the Ministry of Trade, Commerce, Food Security & Co-operative Development is inviting applications from Sri Lankan citizens for the position of Chief Executive Officer at its Head Office.

Position: Chief Executive Officer

Salary Scale: HM 2-1 – 2025
Salary: Rs. 161,140 – 12 × Rs. 4,850 – Rs. 219,340

Qualifications

Applicants should meet one of the following qualification pathways:

Pathway 1

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Business Administration, Human Resource Management, Marketing, Accountancy or Commerce, recognized by the University Grants Commission.

And

• Master’s Degree in a relevant field or Associate Membership of a recognized professional chartered institution in Management.

And

• At least 17 years’ experience at Managerial Level, including 5 years at Senior Managerial Level.
• Proven track record in a Corporation, Board or reputed Mercantile Establishment after obtaining the first degree.

Pathway 2

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Business Administration, Human Resource Management, Marketing, Accountancy or Commerce, recognized by the University Grants Commission.

And

• PhD Degree in a relevant field.

And

• At least 5 years’ experience at Senior Managerial Level with a proven track record and management experience in a Corporation, Board or reputed Mercantile Establishment after obtaining the PhD.

Special Allowance

A special allowance is granted in accordance with Management Services Circular No. 01/2024 dated 2024.01.12.
