Position Details

The Technical Officer will assist in technical operations, laboratory activities, maintenance of inventories, and other duties related to the relevant faculty or department.

The appointment will initially be made as a Trainee Technical Officer for a period of 3 years. Candidates who successfully complete training and demonstrate competency may be appointed as Technical Officer Grade II – Segment “B” on a permanent basis.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in technical and laboratory-related activities.
• Support practical sessions and technical requirements of the relevant faculty/department.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and related resources.
• Maintain inventories and records accurately.
• Perform technical duties assigned by university authorities.
• Improve technical knowledge and skills through training programmes.
• Support academic and research activities where required.

Qualifications & Experience

Applicants should possess:

• Three (03) passes at G.C.E. Advanced Level in:
  • Biological Science Stream, or
  • Physical Science Stream, or
  • Technology Stream
    obtained in one sitting.

AND

• Completion of a skilled-oriented formal training programme relevant to the post with a minimum duration of one year (full-time) or equivalent.
• Maximum age limit: Not more than 45 years.

• Technical and laboratory handling skills.
• Ability to maintain equipment and records.
• Practical problem-solving ability.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to undergo technical training.

Salary & Benefits

Salary Scale:
U- MT 1 – 2025
Rs. 51,095 – 7×540 – 1×640 – 10×890 – 13×1,190 = Rs. 86,285 p.m.
